Remember This Memorial Day And Every Day After

Remember.

Memorial Day. There is so much weight behind those two words. One week from today, at 3:00pm local time, we will take the time to remember. Remember those who have lost their lives, those who have served, and those who continue to serve. But why not remember every day? To learn more about the History and Observance of Memorial Day, go to http://www.usmemorialday.org.

Observe.

Take a drive or walk through a National Cemetery near you. The National Cemetery of Nashville is in Madison, Tennessee, just minutes from our office. It is the most historic, peaceful, and yet, humbling destination. There are internments dating back to the Civil War. It is definitely worth a trip. https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/nashville.asp

Give Back.

There are many ways to help Veterans right here in your home town. We enjoy working with our local VFW and American Legion Post. They host events and food drives monthly to support local veterans in need. They are also a great resource to connect you with other opportunities outside of their organizations.

At Heritage Law Group, we work with Veterans and their families on a regular basis. There are many hours of talking about the war, sharing boot camp stories, but most of all helping them apply for the benefits that Veterans are entitled to receive. Most Veterans and their spouses are not even aware of the benefits that they could be using toward senior living, health care, and other expenses.

Have a fun and safe weekend, but most of all, Remember.
